Yesterday I signed up to Empire Avenue, it’s very different and very interesting. Use your social media skills to raise your own virtual stock value. Buy virtual shares in other people and earn virtual money from their stocks. Might sound a little crazy at first but unlike Second Life and other such things, Empire Avenue is not confined to a virtual world. It uses your real life social networking accounts and activities to raise your value depending on how active you are. In turn this encourages you to be more active in social media such as Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and Blogging. It is also a great way to promote yourself and your field of interest. By raising the value of your virtual stock through your online activities you can help promote your interests, such as Linux, open source, bands you’re into, causes you follow, whatever it might be. I see it as a great and free way to advertise yourself to the online world.
